Takashi Murakami is a famous Japanese contemporary artist, known for blending anime motifs with pop culture. For this cover of his biography, I want to capture not only the artist but examples of his work as well. I made Takashi black and white to make him look more serious and established. This also helps to contrast the characters and element featured in his artwork that surrounds him. Takashi's flower is a very commonly seen motif in his art and has been featured in a number of celebrity and brand collabs like Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Billie Eilish, Louis Vitton, etc, so I want to heavily feature them in the background.
