Overview

I was tasked to create 3 cohesive event posters for National Civil Rights Museum, while also experimenting with different styles of composition. My theme for the posters is "new era": turning a page to a new wave of civil rights, paving a new, hopeful path. Civil rights figures like Ruby Bridges and Martin Luther King and Black Lives Matters protesters, are places in juxeposition to the scenes of old photos of protesters, good and bad, to show the progress we have made. The red, black, and green is the Afro-American flag commonly used in BLM and Black activist spaces to represent liberty solidarity. The used of black and white photos vs colored ones also represent the old mentality and time that is being replaced by new progress.
